Southland uses only state-of-the-art milling and notching equipment. Tighter log fit and corner interlock means the most cost- and energy-efficient homes available. Each engineered, precut log is also carefully treated to protect against insects and decay. Southland offers a variety of log styles. Rounded 8-inch logs can be milled with round or flat interior surfaces and are constructed with stockade corners. Dovetail corners are used with rectangular French Canadian or Appalachian chinked logs. Recently added log profiles are the log plank and saddle notch. Customers may choose from many standard plans or Southland's architectural department will create a custom design.
