That’s right—we’ve managed to find even more small log homes. And guess what: They're all under 2,500 square feet!

We asked log home companies to send in the best designs they could muster in less than 2,500 square feet—and the response was phenomenal! So many came in, it was a shame to pick just ten winners.

We’ve featured our favorites in no particular order; they’re all winners (or honorable mentions) in our book, each one unique and an exceptional conduit for the type of log home living we all dream about.

There’s something here for everyone who ever wanted to his or her own small slice of log home paradise. Enjoy:

These are all very nice, but I'm shocked you didn't have at least one of the marvelous Shawn Fisher designs from Tennessee Log Homes. They are small home wonders!

Nice log homes but... I dont think I'm the only one out here that thinks 2500 square feet is not small. When I think of a small log home I think in terms of 1000 square feet +/- is small. I'd like to see more plans like the cabin Jack Hanna built.

I would really like to see plans and pictures of small trappers cabins. I live in a small 1200 sq foot cabin now and have for the last 11 years. Built in 1981 restoration is on going. I am wanting to build now a trappers cabin and hope you will feature some in your mag.

Hi Kim,

I hear you! The average size log home built in North America today is 2,500 square feet, so we tried to showcase homes under that square footage. But we'll continue to feature homes of all sizes, including wonderfully small cabins like the one Jack Hanna owns in Montana. Of course, he owns a pretty big place just next to it!

Thanks for checking out the site...have a wonderful summer.
